This art program encourages participants to engage in active imagination, exploration, and creation using clay and a variety of artistic mediums. Through hands-on experiential learning, students will have the opportunity to develop confidence in working with the material and foster connections with both the medium itself and their fellow participants. The program will involve the creation of functional and sculptural objects using clay through handbuilding techniques, as well as multiple opportunities to learn and practice throwing on the potter's wheel. The wheel throwing portion of the class will focus on learning to center and throw small bowls and cups, Students will also learn basic decorating and glazing techniques.

Week 4: Glaze

Week 5: Throwing on the wheel

Week 6: Mask making

At the conclusion of the class, we will have an art show to enjoy and commemorate student’s art works. Date TBD.
